Black Stars must beat ‘em all – O. B. Amoah

The Member of Parliament for Akuapem South, Osei Bonsu Amoah, has admonished the Black Stars to go all out to strive and beat any team that comes along their way to lift the AFCON trophy currently underway at Equatorial-Guinea.According to the former Deputy Minister of Youth & Sports, who is also a football enthusiast, for Ghana to stamp its superiority in the game of football in the African continent, the AFCON tourney is the best opportunity for the Black Stars to rise to stardom once again.
“With our group, any two can drop and any two can move on. I expect that Algeria should stay looking at their performance at the World Cup. Between Senegal and Ghana – one should stay and one should move on. Of course, being a Ghanaian, I expect that Ghana will go very far. Ghana has all the experience. If our technical team will be a bit reactive, they should find a way of at least qualifying from the group to the knockout stages where it will be anybody’s game. We are likely to meet one of the top teams along the way but if you want to be a champion, then obviously, you have to beat any team that comes along your way”, the Akuapem South legislator argued last Thursday on Agenda, a current affairs programme hosted by Matilda Asante on TV3.
The Black Stars is paired in Group C alongside the Teranga Lions of Senegal, Bafana Bafana of South Africa and the Desert Warriors or simply put the Greens of Algeria.
The Black Stars led by skipper Asamoah Gyan will come face-to-face with the Teranga Lions of Senegal in the groups opening match Monday, January 19, 2015 at 16:00 GMT.
It would soon be followed by the game between the Bafana Bafana of South Africa and the Greens of Algeria.
