Member of Parliament for Okere, Daniel Kwaku Botwe has been named as the 2016 Campaign Strategist for the flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Nana Addo-Dankwa Akufo-Addo, Ghananewshub.com can say.
The former General Secretary of the elephant was once rumoured to be the appointed as the Campaign Manager for Nana Addo.
However, after extensive consultations with party stalwarts across the country and abroad by the flagbearer, Mr. Botwe has been named as the Strategist for the campaign team which has a sole mandate to win the 2016 general elections.
Mr. Botwe, Ghananewshub.com can authoritatively say, would soon be unveiled and sworn into office among other team members.
Party officials who are familiar with the situation say the decision to settle on Dan Botwe was holistic as he is seen as the right man who possesses the requisite skills to map out strategies in winning the 2016 general elections.
“At first we decided to name him the campaign manager but upon a careful review of his skills, all of us including flagbearer himself decided to name him the campaign strategist. We didn’t want him to be occupied with so many things at a given time. He is a great thinker who always comes out with innovative ideas. So, we want him to think and come out with a plan to win back power from the NDC,” an insider who is familiar with Dan Botwe’s appointment told this website.
Former National Chairman of the party, Peter Mac Manu will head the team which also includes the National Chairman, Paul Afoko, General Secretary, Kwabena Agyepong, National Youth Organiser, Sammy Awuku and National Organiser, John Boadu.
The aforementioned names, according to party sources, are part of the list of people presented by Nana Addo to the National Council of Elders of the party, who will form his campaign team.
