President John Mahama has “disgraced himself as a Northerner” because he is not honest and truthful as the chief executive officer of the land, former Attorney General Martin Amidu has bemoaned.
According to the anti-corruption crusader, Mahama has failed to heed to his advice as a “brother” from the North and he keeps on disgracing people from that area who are generally “honest and truthful.”
Speaking on Joy FM’s news analysis programme News File on Saturday, Amidu, who has been in the news all week following his attacks on undercover journalist Anas Aremeyaw Anas over his modus operandi, indicated there is gargantuan corruption under the Mahama administration and this does not auger well for the respect and honesty that people of northern extraction are noted for.
Amidu popularly known as citizen vigilante for his anti-corruption crusade, pointed out he does not hate Mahama but was only pointing out the truth about the president.
“No! I do not hate the president. I have advised him, that as a young northerner and to have found himself in the high office of the land, he should perform very well to uphold the integrity of Northerners. In fact he is disgracing me. Because what he is doing, for the next 20 years this country will not vote for any Northerner,” the ‘Citizen Vigilante’ asserted.
He added that “Northerners are known to be very honest and truthful people but John Mahama has disgraced himself as a Northerner when it comes to corruption, and as a result of that, it might take another 20 to 30 years for Ghanaians to vote a Northerner as President.”
