MTN loses Ghc35 million to ‘dumsor’

Cooperate Services Executive of MTN Cynthia Lumor has revealed that the telecommunication giant has since the beginning of this year spent Ghc35 million on fuel due to the erratic power supply in the country.

According to her, the company in the same period last year spent Ghc25.6 million for the same purpose.

Speaking at an Editors forum organized by MTN in the Western region, Lumor noted that the continuous drop in power supply is affecting their finances.

The editors’ forum is an annual event which aims at enhancing the relationship between MTN and journalists in the country.

Lumor also added that despite the stringent measures put in place to reduce fibre cuts, the problem still persists.

She, however, acknowledged that the number of fibre cuts have reduced from 94 in 2014 to 45 in 2015. –
